Head inland and step into the Wild West at Mini-Hollywood, a desert film set that was used in the productions of iconic movies like The Good, the Bady and the Ugly and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In the Tabernas Desert – Europe's only desert landscape – you'll wander dusty streets, catch a live cowboy duel with horses and chariots, and dip into saloons and sheriff's offices. Then, slow things down in the spacious zoological reserve, where giraffes, big cats and crocodiles roam. It's a mix of film, live action and wildlife, with time to explore how you want.

Sunrise mining route off-road safari with tapas

Watching the sun rise is the perfect way to start this4x4 safari along the Ruta de la Mineria. You'll head off‑road along this historic mining route, passing through old tunnels that once carried iron and copper ore. Then, you'll stop at Concesion San Manuel, a former mining hub, before walking a 20th-century railway path to a viewpoint overlooking the Barranco de la Parda bridge. You'll then swing by Hoyo Jupiter, an open‑pit mining site, before unwinding at a Buddha Centre surrounded by nature. The day wraps up in Bedar with tapas and drinks before heading back.
