Experience a day trip in Bordeaux wine region.
The Medoc wine region spans from the left bank of the Gironde river to the city of Bordeaux and includes the four famous communes of St Estèphe, Pauillac, Margaux and St Julien. The area is famous for its red wine and the main grape variety used is the Cabernet Sauvignon, but other varieties include Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
Your first stop will be at a carefully selected wine estate of your choice that is ranked as Grand Cru Classé, âteau or cru bourgeois. There, you will be greeted by an expert guide who will introduce you to the history of the property. Then, follow your guide for a tour of the technical installations to learn about how the grapes are slowly transformed into wine. After a stroll through the different cellars you'll enjoy a commented tasting session where you'll fully experience their flavors and aromas.
After your first Château visit, your ride will follow the Gironde Estuary and cross the River to experience right bank wines. Your destination is now the Saint-Emilion & Pomerol wine areas. Merlot is the dominant grape in this area, followed by Cabernet Franc.
You'll enjoy free time for lunch in Saint Emilion and at the end of the day, you'll get dropped off at your accommodation in Bordeaux.
