This 18-hole course (71 par) was designed by the renowned architect Antonio García Garrido, who is known for his careful landscaping. The course offers a large selection of trees and a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea. The greens are generously sized, but the fairways are narrow in the first half of the course, so more precision is required than in the second half. The bunkers contain white marble chips and the fairways are sown with Bermuda grass except for a few holes that use ryegrass, while the greens and tees have penncross. Flamingos Golf has hosted prestigious golf tournaments such as the European Seniors in 2002, 2003 and 2004 and the Women's Spanish Open in 2010.
