What to expect

This historical building has housed the collection of the founder of the Gallery P.M.Tretyakov (since 1856). Here you can see more than 1300 works of Russian art from the 11th till the early 20th century, beginning from pre-Mongolian icons and mosaics and ending with landscape, portrait and historical painting and masterpieces.

The extensive collection includes works like "Trinity," by Andrei Rublev and "The Apparition of Christ Before the Peopl" by Alexander Ivanov. The works of the great artists V.I.Surikov, V.V.Vereshchagin, I.E.Repin, V.A.Serov and others are represented in different sides.

Meeting point:

Tretyakovskaya metro station is the shortest way. Exit from subway one. Climb the escalator up, you will get to the street Big Ordynka. Go over it-you hit the building of a fast food restaurant. Turn left. Then to the right-you will get to the Horde deadlock. Go to it to the end, to the intersection with Lavrushensky lane. There the building of the Tretyakov gallery will already be within sight.

What to remember

Visit for foreign citizens: admission to the museum of foreign citizens is carried out in the presence of a negative PCR test for the detection of coronavirus infection issued in paper form, performed a day before visiting the museum
Visit for Russian citizens: One of the following documents must be presented at the entrance to the museum: 1) QR code confirming the fact of vaccination; 2) QR code confirming the fact of a previous illness; 3) The document confirming the fact of medical contraindications for vaccination (presented together with a negative PCR test)
