After being picked up at your hotel in Tbilisi, you will head to Mtskheta.
On the way, your guide will take you to Jvari Monastery. The church overlooks the confluence of two rivers and amazes its visitors with its beautiful facades and geographical locations.
Once you arrive in Mtskheta, the ancient capital of the early Georgian kingdom, you will get to explore its lovely streets, shops, houses with balconies and various historical monuments. You will discover an archeological site where excavations found the ruins of old bathes, king’s palaces, a medieval fortress designed to protect Mtskheta from invasions and medieval churches.
Next on the itinerary is the Svetitskhoveli cathedral – literally the “Life’s giving pillar". Beautiful architecture, facades and frescoes will leave you astonished.
You will explore the birthplace of Stalin in his family house where he lived as a child and teenager and visit a museum dedicated to Stalin’s life. The museum included different photos, gifts and documents linked to Stalin’s life.
In Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock-hewn town that was carved in the 1st millennium BC. A mixture of different cultures, civilizations and religions gives you the chance to travel across centuries.
