Your full-day Rome and Vatican City tour begins at Piazza Navona. You will stroll across this picturesque square and see Bernini’s remarkable Baroque fountains. Next stop will be the Pantheon, a second-to-none marvel built nearly 2,000 years ago as a Pagan temple to honor the Gods and the Trevi Fountain, immortalized in Fellini’s film “La Dolce Vita”.
You will then head to the Trajan’s Column, a massive monument to Emperor Hadrian’s victory in Dacia and after that you will be led to the Roman Forum archaeological site. Close nearby, the Colosseum awaits. Get privileged skip-the-line access through the remarkable Gladiator’s Gate. After exploring the various levels, your guide will leave you to wander around the Colosseum at your own pace.
After the lunch break, you will meet your guide again near the Vatican to enter avoiding queues in the Vatican Museums. Prepare to stare at all the major works of art by masters such as Perugino, Giotto, Raphael, and of course, Michelangelo. At the end of the tour, you will be free to enjoy skip-the-line access to St. Peter’s Basilica and see Michelangelo’s beautiful Pietà, the Dome, and Baldacchino.
