Maximize your chances of seeing the Northern Lights on this exciting once-in-a-lifetime experience which combines a Northern Lights chase with a visit to a private Aurora camp.
After setting off by bus from Tromsø, you will be driven outside the city to a location chosen according to the latest aurora and weather forecasts. Your experienced guide will find the best photo stop offering excellent conditions and a scenic backdrop, and will even be able to help you with your camera settings so you can take your own photos.
After two or more hours, you will be driven to one of the exclusive Aurora camps, each of which is equipped with two comfortable lavvus (Sami tents). The decision of which camp you go to is left as late as possible to maximize your chance of seeing the Northern Lights dancing. Once you arrive to the basecamps, you will be divided into two smaller groups, each with their own lavvu and English-speaking guide.
You will be served hot drinks, as well as warm stew with fishcakes or sausages over an open fire. Warm winter clothes and tripods are available, and dietary requirements can be catered for upon request. Toilet facilities are located on the bus.
Please note that as the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, no guarantees can be made as to their appearance, however your accompanying team will be using all their experience to maximize the chances of a successful chase.
