With this tour you will travel to the origins of the Valencian wine through the Utiel-Requena region, situated in the Valencia province's interior. Wine culture permeates the life and history of this area, almost exclusively used to cultivate grape vines. The Utiel-Requena region is the only region in which wine has been continuously produced for more than 2,500 years. Currently, their fine wines are recognized and demanded all around the world.
The tour will depart from the center of Valencia, heading towards the Utiel-Requena region. You’ll travel with an expert guide who will reveal you the secrets of Valencian wines during the trip(1 hour approximately). Once you have arrived, you will visit a local winery, while listening to a detailed explanation about the winemaking process and tasting some wine
Afterwards, you will visit the Caves of the Village, a labyrinth of underground caves from the Muslim era, that had several uses along their history: housing, shelters, ossuaries, silos or warehouses.
This intense morning ends with a great lunch, where you’ll taste a typical menu made with natural products and based on traditional recipes, a perfect pairing with the D.O. Utiel-Requena wines.
