What to expect

Auschwitz-Birkenau stands as a chilling reminder of the world's most horrific acts of terror, genocide, and atrocities. Constructed by the Nazis in 1940 in the suburbs of Oswiecim, it is estimated that over one million individuals from 28 different nationalities tragically lost their lives here. Recognised for its historical significance, this site has been part of the UNESCO Cultural and Natural World Heritage list since 1979.

The tour provides an immersive experience into both sections of the camp - Auschwitz and Birkenau. A knowledgeable English-speaking guide, will accompany you throughout your visit. Entrance tickets are included, allowing you to focus on absorbing the profound history that surrounds you. This ticket does not include roundtrip transportation and transfer between sites.

Please ensure that the name on your ID exactly matches the name provided at the booking to avoid issues at the entrance.. The museum can change your visit time. You will receive final confirmation via e-mail the day before. Due to the extremely high visitor volume and internal policies, Auschwitz-Birkenau reserves the right to cancel tours or guides at any time, even a few days or hours before the visit. If this happens, you will be informed, and when possible, offered an alternative date or program.
All visitors are required to pass through security checks before entering the museum grounds.
Please reserve a whole day for your visit and be prepared for an early entrance. The visiting time might change to 5 hours from your preferred time

The memorial's visitor service determines the pace and duration of the tours according to the weather
There's no dress code in place at Auschwitz. However, visitors are expected to dress respectfully, keeping the historical significance of the place in mind
