Start your journey with your licensed guide at Basilica of Santa Chiara, one of the most important symbols of the city, where some relics of the Saint are preserved along with the Crucifix that had spoken to St. Francis.
Visit the Cathedral of San Rufino, with its marvelous façade carved in Romanesque style, where you could admire the preserved baptismal font in which St. Francis and Santa Chiara received the sacrament of Baptism.
Your visit will continue through the historic center of Piazza del Comune, where you could admire the New Church and the nearby Oratory of San Francesco Piccolino which, according to legend, represents the exact place where St. Francis came into the world.
You will conclude your tour at the Basilica of San Francesco, an architectural masterpiece that since 2000 is also recognized and protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. You will admire the pictorial works of famous artists like Giotto, Cimabue, Lorenzetti and Simone Martini and descend to the crypt, where you could visit the remains of the Saint.
