Ancient Corinth has been one of the most important and powerful ancient cities in Greece. All the conquerors of Greece such as the Byzantines, Franks, St John knights of Rhodes, Venetians and the Turks passed through here and left their traces.
It’s around an hour's drive to get to Ancient Corinth, you'll make a small stop at Corinth canal, an artificial canal that separates the Peloponnese from Attica and allows ships to cross the Aegean Sea.
Visit the archaeological site and the museum and view the hill and the temple of Apollo, the places where the Apostle Paul spoke.
Before heading off to Cechries, the port where St. Paul began his journey to Ephesus and his tours to spread the word of Christianity. Visit early Christian temples and the temples of Artemis and Isis and see the ruins of the opposite piers of the port and the sunken ruins of the port buildings.
During the summer months swim in the crystal clear waters before you have lunch in a traditional tavern and when the weather does not allow swimming during the winter months you'll visit Mars hill rock (Arios Pagos). This is where St. Paul spoke to the pagan Athenians about Christ.
