Start the day making your way towards Carrickfergus Castle. The castle was built by the Normans in 1177 AD. It remains one of the best-preserved medieval structures in Ireland and presents a great opportunity for photographs. Next, travel along the coastal road towards Carnlough Harbour for a comfort stop. It is an old picturesque fishing village, more recently famous for featuring in the famous Game of Thrones HBO show.
Venture further along the coast road towards Portaneevy viewpoint. At this stop, you can see the famous Carrick-a-rede rope bridge (currently not accessible). The next location is the iconic Dark Hedges, which provides one of the best opportunities for that ‘Instagram’ photo! Fans of Game of Thrones will instantly recognize this as the King's Road from Game of Thrones.
Move to the Old Bushmills Distillery, make a quick photo stop at Dunluce Castle, and finally reach the highlight of the tour: the Giant’s Causeway. The Giant's Causeway has often been described as the 8th wonder of the world, and once you have visited the site, you’ll quickly see why.
