Visit the highest mountain in mainland Portugal and taste local products.
After the pick-up in Coimbra, start your trip of about an hour to visit an Olive Oil Mill where you will see the entire production process, and you will have the opportunity to taste the products. Then, continue through the Roman Ruins of Bobadela and visit a winery producing wines in the Dão Region. Explore the vineyard, and the cellar, and learn how different factors such as terroir, altitude, method, and different grape varieties influence the quality of the wines. End your visit with a wine tasting.
Next, head to Queijaria where you will try some of the famous and delicious cheese from the mountains, produced with milk from local sheep and goats. The trip takes its course again and at about 1000 meters of altitude, with a beautiful view over Seia, you will have a picnic with the local products that your guide has been acquiring in the meantime on your visits. Afterward, enjoy a coffee in the highest village in Portugal, Sabugueiro, and get to know one of the oldest Portuguese shepherd dog breeds in the Iberian Peninsula, the Serra da Estrela Dog.
With an altitude of about 1996 meters, at the top of the mountain, walk through an area of rare beauty and impressive mountain slopes where we can intensely experience the silence of the heights.
