Marvel at one of the richest collections of aircraft, helicopters and gliders at the site of the renowned Rakowice-Czyzyny airport, one of the oldest in Europe. Founded as a balloon airfield in 1912 and served as the aviation headquarters of the Austrian empire, the modern Polish Museum of Aviation now houses over 300 unique exhibits from all over the world.
Step back in time and admire the only remaining Grigorowicz M-15 Russian flying boat from 1916, as well as German WWI combat aircraft such as the Halberstadt Cl.II and Roland D.IV. Step out into the open-air museum for more examples of famous Soviet-era aircraft, such as the Antonov AN- 26 or Polish PZL 130 Orlik.
You can also go inside some exhibits. It is simply a mandatory point of the aviation – passion - agenda and a great idea for a nice walk with your family or friends.
