This tour shines the spotlight on two lakes and their surroundings. You'll explore the shores of Lake Orta, considered the prettiest of Italy's subalpine lakes, before heading to Lake Maggiore. Here, you'll take the boat out to Isola Bella, where a palace and Italianate baroque garden await.
Known locally as La Cenerentola, or Cinderella, Lake Orta has an ethereal, unspoilt quality that gives it its own peaceful feel, far away from the crowds. You'll journey along the shores, taking in the tranquillity of wooded slopes above and the still water below.
Next, you'll head to Stresa on Lake Maggiore, where you'll take the boat out to Isola Bella, which was completely transformed from a desolate rocky islet in the middle of the lake to a blossoming garden crowned by a baroque palace. Take in the views from the tiered gardens and walk among ornate statues before returning to Lake Como.
