Hit the road to reach Tomar (1 hour) and see the Templar Castle, and the Convento de Cristo Monastery. Visit the old town of Tomar passing by the old Synagogue, the oldest in Portugal. Walk around and find some of the most unique buildings in the city, and enjoy free time to have lunch (not included).
After lunch, you'll head to Constância where the most famous Portuguese poet, Luís de Camões, is said to have lived. Soak up the spectacular views of the confluence of Zêzere and Tejo rivers before taking a small boat ride to the Almourol Castle island. There you'll have free time to explore on your own.
You'll take the beautiful roads that follow the Tagus river south, crossing the Ribatejo plains and passing by Golegã and Santarém, before heading back to Lisbon.
