This tour of Marrakesh is designed to make sure you see as many of its major landmarks as the possible in just one day. You'll be picked up at your hotel, then it's off to the first stop, Koutoubia. This mosque is one of the biggest and prettiest Islamic temples in the western world. From here, you'll make your way to Bahia Palace, a 19th-century landmark that's known for its two acres of finely preened gardens and colourful tilework.
Next up is Marrakesh's medina, AKA the heart of the city. This mish-mash of markets – known locally as souks – has bagged UNESCO World Heritage Site status. You'll kick things off here with a visit to the artisan quarter, which includes a stop at a Berber pharmacy where you'll learn all about some of Morocco's natural herbs and oils. You'll have lunch somewhere in the medina, as well, before carrying on around the medina. There's an optional shopping stop here, too, if you want to stock up on souvenirs.
Last but not least, you'll head over to Jemaa el Fna, a city plaza that's so impressive UNESCO has given it their seal of approval since 2001. You'll stop at a café for a drink and a pastry before checking out the public square and its lively atmosphere – it's a hub of street performers, musicians and market stalls.
