Where do the bubbles come from? What is a Blanc de Blancs, a Blanc de Noirs? How is Champagne Rosé made? Take this full-day tour of the Champagne region from Paris and learn everything about Champagne! Visit three champagne houses, vineyards and cellars escorted by a wine expert guide!
Your wine expert guide will pick you up in the early morning at your hotel in Paris and take you to the vineyard (90 min ride). Enjoy freshly baked croissants while hearing an introduction to Champagne wines.
Start the tour with the visit of one of the largest and world-renowned Champagne houses, such as Moët & Chandon, Mumm or Veuve Clicquot (depending on availability). Walk down the cellars and discover the maze of galleries before enjoying one of their flagship cuvées. Get to know the secrets behind the Méthode Champenoise.
You'll then drive through the vineyards of Montagne de Reims, Cote des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne, between Reims, Ay and Epernay. You will learn the difference between the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier; and enjoy a Masterclass in the vineyards. You will taste one special Cuvée and learn each of its specificities. You'll then visit a family-run estate, meet the owner, and taste traditional lunch paired with different styles of Champagne.
After lunch, you'll walk through the charming village of Hautvillers and stop at the abbey where hundred years ago, Dom Perignon worked on the Champagne making process.
Your tour ends in a family-run winery where you’ll get to taste authentic Champagnes produced in small quantities.
You’ll be dropped off back in central Paris in the evening.
