The Centre Pompidou presents 'Women in Abstraction'. The exhibition aims to write the history of the contributions of women artists to abstraction through one hundred and six artists and more than five hundred works dating from the 1860s to the 1980s. It highlights the work of many of them suffering from a lack of visibility and recognition beyond their country's borders. It focuses on the paths of artists, sometimes unfairly eclipsed from the history of art, by reviewing their specific contribution to the history of abstraction.
