What to expect

Take a break from the busy streets of Rome and spend a day exploring the serene Italian countryside: visit two gorgeous small towns, Perugia and Spoleto.

After being pick-up from your centrally located hotel, you'll travel directly to the city of Perugia where you'll visit the Perugina chocolate factory. You'll begin your tour at their historical museum: a guide will tell you all about the origin of cacao, its products, and their unique chocolate recipes, and you will discover the secrets of Perugina's most famous products, such as the Baci and much more. The itinerary also includes videos and anecdotes about the history of this important Italian company.
Next, you'll get to taste some of the delicious Perugina products and then, finally, you'll visit the actual chocolate factory. During the factory tour, you may have the opportunity to stroll on a catwalk from where you can have an overview of the production lines.
Your experience continues on to the historical center of Perugia that, despite its small size, holds a vast amount of artistic and cultural treasures, such as the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, the Town Hall and Fontana Maggiore, built in the 13th century by Giovanni and Nicola Pisano. This beautiful capital of Umbria is sure to leave every visitor amazed by its picturesque beauty and immense cultural heritage.
Your last stop will be Spoleto, a town that holds together both culture and nature. Famous visitors like Michelangelo and Stendhal enthusiastically sang the praises of such a beautiful city and, during your visit, you'll have the chance to admire ancient monuments like its Roman theater or the medieval cathedral of St Maria Assunta.

At the end of your day, you'll head back to Rome where you'll be dropped off at your hotel.
