Full day Tenerife Tour with La Laguna and Wine Tasting

Dusty and lunar-like in the south, green and mountainous in the north, Tenerife packs a continent into one island. Think quaint villages, stunning views and wine tasting on this full day experience. You'll visit the UNESCO-listed old town of La Laguna, drop into a bodega for a wine tasting and explore two plantations. Arianne, one of our local expert guides, says, ‘This is a tour with a difference, offering the perfect combination between north and south, and culture and nature.'First up is a visit to an aloe vera plantation. Here, you'll learn about the healing qualities – especially skincare – of this crop. Then it's on to La Laguna, arguably the prettiest town on the island. Throw in its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it makes for a real gem of a stop. Wander its poker-straight streets of pastel-coloured palaces and colonial-era churches and convents, or stop for a coffee in one of the cool tree-lined plazas. Taste local products such as marmalade and cheese in the weekly market and admire the town's famous flower displays. It's then on to a rustic, family-run winery for a typical Canarian lunch surrounded by vintage bottles and aged barrels. All ingredients are seasonal and locally sourced to reduce the environmental impact. And it goes without saying that you'll get to taste a selection of the bodega's wines. Rounding off the day is a tour of a banana plantation. Sample the sweet and juicy local variety, which is highly regarded throughout Spain.

Teide and Masca Tour from Southern Tenerife

This exclusive tour explores Tenerife's most stunning inland areas. You'll venture in an eight-seater minivan through the otherworldly landscapes of Teide National Park, admire the panoramas from countless viewpoints and visit the ridge-top hamlet of Masca. Plus, there's traditional Canarian lunch on the menu, too. Arianne, one of our expert local guides, say, ‘I love guiding this tour because it's an overdose of nature, focusing on the island's volcanology, from the past to the present.'Your adventure kicks off by heading south into Teide National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – climbing through a dense pine forest. There's a pit stop at Chipeque viewpoint, which often overlooks cloud-shrouded terrain below. The scenery around here is still bursting with greenery. But as we journey deeper into the national park, you'll encounter volcanic landscapes that could easily be on the moon, Venus or Mars. Desolate, rock-strewn badlands. A stop at Roques de Garcia allows you to take some pics near these iconic rock formations, with the volcano's cone in the background.Grab a last look at the lava-scarred landscapes at Poleos viewpoint before dropping into a family-run restaurant for a lunch made from seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Rounding off the day is a visit to Masca – a hard-to-reach hamlet perched on a ridge in a deep volcanic gorge. Enjoy free time to poke around and take in the vistas.

La Gomera – from the North

Marooned off the southwest coast of Tenerife, the tiny island of La Gomera has a lost-in-time feel. The deep valleys of Gomera's UNESCO-protected Garajonay National Park are home to rare plants, unique to the island. After taking in jaw-dropping scenery, it's on to the historic capital, San Sebastian. Crammed with pastel-coloured houses, this pretty place is knee-deep in history – Columbus sailed from here on his 1492 voyage of discovery. Also on the agenda is an included Gomeran meal at a quaint country restaurant plus a demonstration of local ‘silbo' whistling.
