The inside story

Buildings that were once used as grand stabling for imperial horses have been restored and revamped into a brilliant mix of art galleries, museums, dining and shopping arranged around an airy square. Located just at the edge of the city’s central district, this vibrant destination is perfect for relaxing, socialising, and taking in some of Vienna’s cultural riches.
The standout attractions in the MuseumsQuartier are the Leopold Museum and the mumok. Home to the Leopold Collection, the Leopold Museum is a hub for modernist Austrian art and is best known for its collection of more than 200 works by Egon Schiele. Mumok is another beacon of contemporary art, holding a varied selection of modern works including examples of pop art and Vienna Actionism.
