What to expect

Join a picturesque trip to Salzburg, the Sound of Music City, to explore the original filming locations. This tour is a perfect balance of information and fun as well as of incredible beauty of the Austrian Alps and the Old City of Salzburg. If you are a fan of the film, the tour is a must during your stay in Austria. With no doubt, you will have fun visiting the filming locations. You will learn many interesting facts about the Trapp family and take a stroll through the same scenes in Salzburgs Old City you can see in the movie.

Your unforgettable trip begins in the idyllic sceneries of the Austrian Alps, where you will visit the famous church of Mondsee, chosen by the film director as an ideal location for Maria’s wedding setting. On the way to Salzburg, you will take pictures of the beautiful lakes and peaks. You will enjoy the fresh air in Hellbrunn Park, where the famous Gazebo has been still keeping the secret of the first kiss of Liesl. You will take a stroll through the magnificent Mirabell Gardens, where Maria and her children danced around the Pegasus Fountain while singing the song "Do-re-mi".

Then you will see the picturesque Horse Pond, shot in the film as well. Enjoy the chilling of the Residence Square with the famous Residence Fountain, the most famous fountain in the city, chosen for the "I have confidence in me" song. You will take pictures of the Summer Riding School, where the Trapp family took part in the world-famous Salzburg music festival and enjoy the silence of the oldest cemetery in Austria at the Sankt Peter's Monastery. Here the Trapp family finds a secure hiding place before escaping to Italy. You will see the Nonnberg Abbey, the oldest in Europe that became famous thanks to the voice of Maria Kutschera. Her story served as inspiration for the Sound of Music movie.
