The tour departs from Windermere and heads towards Langdale Valley, famous for rock climbing and mountain walking. You may be able to spot a local breed of sheep, the Herdwick, as you make you make your way through the valley. You will then begin your ascent of the steep Wrynose and Hardknott mountain passes that boast spectacular views towards the fells.
During the entire tour, you will be ushered by a professional guide who will also give you commentaries and share stories of the region. Make sure you bring your camera, as there will be plenty of opportunities to take memorable shots throughout this tour. The group will also stop for lunch, where you will have the chance to purchase food and refreshments either at a traditional Lakeland Pub or at a local café.
Once you have arrived in the Eskdale valley, you will have a stop for lunch (not included) in the village of Boot. The next stop will be Wastwater, once voted ‘Britain’s favorite view’. Here you will find the deepest Lake in the country surrounded by mountains, which creates a truly dramatic setting. You will then have the opportunity to explore Muncaster Castle, which dates back to the 14th Century and enjoy fell views from the Georgian Terrace. On the way back towards the central Lake District, you will travel past Coniston and through the Yewdale Valley.
