The inside story

Duivelshuis or Devil's House is an alluring mansion located in the center of Arnhem. The building and surrounding area were originally a farmstead, later owned and turned into a residence by Duke Charles of Gelre in 1518. The building owes its name to the three satyrs standing guard outside. The residence can also be featured in local folktales. After WWII, Duivelshius became a local gathering point for veterans to commemorate the Battle of Arnheim which took place during the Operation Market Garden campaign.
