Dotted with old villages and towns, the Vipava valley is nested beneath a mighty mountain range and has always been an important path towards the Mediterranean. Marked by strong winds, especially the bora wind, it is one of the sunniest regions in Slovenia. The locals are cheerful and hospitable, renowned for their fruit and wine growing traditions, as well as amazing cuisine. The town of Vipava lies at the source of a river of the same name, which exits the mountains in a delta-like shape. It has been an important place in the past, housing many noble families who have left a mark in the town’s architecture.
Admire the beautiful landscape and explore how locals live and prepare yourself for delicious wine tasting.
