What to expect

Enjoy the Musée d’Orsay’s fantastic collection of Impressionist art with this day-ticket!

As well as seeing paintings by Cézanne, Degas, Manet, Monet, Renoir, Seurat, Van Gogh and more, you’ll also have access to exhibitions on photography, graphic art, architecture, sculptures, and objets d’art.

The museum building itself is a highly photogenic ex-train station with a Beaux-Arts façade and an interior iron skeleton. In the square nearby, you’ll see the six sculptures built on the occasion of the 1900 International Expo, each representing a different continent.

TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS

The land of monsters. Léopold Chauveau (1870-1940)
10 March - 28 June 2020
In addition to being a doctor - a profession forced on him by family obligations but which he himself did not enjoy - Léopold Chauveau took refuge in a strange, self-taught artistic universe, both singular and original in equal measures. A sculptor, illustrator and author of books for adults and children, he had long remained forgotten in the history of art, before a gift by his grandson to the Musée d'Orsay in 2017 (18 sculptures and 100 drawings) brought his name back into the limelight.

James Tissot’s ambiguous modernity
24 March - 19 July 2020
Jacques Joseph Tissot, born in Nantes and a student of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, is a major artist of the second half of the 19th century. He was a fascinating, ambiguous figure whose career spanned the English Channel. Although he has regularly featured in exhibitions devoted to this period, this retrospective is the first dedicated to him in Paris since the exhibition organized at the Petit Palais in 1985.
