The inside story
The Golden Gate Bridge is a one-mile-wide suspension bridge over the Pacific Ocean, connecting the San Francisco Bay and Marin County. It’s the most iconic symbol of San Francisco, California and named one of the “Wonders of the Modern World” by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Opened in 1937, the Golden Gate Bridge is possibly one of the most photographed bridges in the world. You can see elements of Art Deco in the design of the towers and lighting scheme. You’ll notice the vibrant colour, orange vermilion or international orange, poking from San Francisco’s notorious foggy skyline.
