The inside story
Wroclaw Zoo is the oldest in Poland and with its 33 hectares it is also one of the largest. It was inaugurated on July 10, 1865 while the city was part of Prussia. It is the largest not only in size but also in number of animals housing about 10,500 animals.
Wroclaw Zoo aims to improve the quality of life of the animals, with the opening of new spaces, larger, more welcoming and modern.
The zoo includes among others: the Africarium, the Madagascar Pavilion, the Odrarium, Terrarium, Zoolandia ropes course, Children's Zoo and the Ranch. The biggest attraction of the zoo is the 'Afrykarium' in which at the time of opening you could admire a few thousand animals belonging to more than 100 different species, all concerning African fauna.
