You'll step off the beaten path and explore El Cardón on a relaxed hike accompanied by goats. Following lesser-known routes through the area, you'll discover a quieter side of Fuerteventura while taking in panoramic views that stretch from the mountains to the coastline.
Five goats accompany the walk, giving you plenty of opportunities to interact with them and take photos as they roam freely around the group. Trained from a young age to walk with people, they're calm and sociable companions that play an important role in the experience.
Along the way, your guide will share insights into Fuerteventura's traditional goat-herding culture and explain the role goats have played in everyday island life for generations. You'll reach a picnic spot surrounded by desert landscapes. Here, you'll have time to rest and enjoy a typical Canarian snack featuring goat's cheese, tomatoes, olives, nuts, a baguette and wine.
As the route unfolds, you can take in views of the mountains, coastline and shifting colours, creating memorable scenery throughout the hike.
