You go on a day trip departing from Lucerne. Together with a guide, you take the bus to Pilatus and then ride the cable car up to Pilatus. You hike together for about an hour up to Tomlishorn, at 2132 meters above sea level, the highest point of Pilatus.
Along the way, the guide explains the local wildlife and plant life on the mountain. With some luck, you might see a few ibexes during your trek. Later, you will cook your lunch over an open fire in Fräkmüntegg before returning to Lucerne by bus.
