Enjoy the Sugarloaf, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Rio de Janeiro downtown, Selarón Steps, and Christ Redeemer all in one day! In the morning, while we move along the beaches of the South Zone of Rio to collect guests, you will catch up nice views from Rio’s charming beaches. As you stroll through Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana you’ll hear all about these beaches.
After that, head to Botafogo neighborhood where Sugar Loaf stands. But before your visit, you will go to the downtown to learn a bit more about the history of the city, passing by the Guanabara Palace, the famous Rio Sambodrome, and the Metropolitan Cathedral, where you have a stop. After a brief visit, you will make your way to Urca and Sugarloaf.
There you will catch some of the best views in Rio. You will travel all the way to the top in two steps by cable car. The first cable car takes you to Urca Hill, a vantage point 215 meters high for which already grants beautiful views of Guanabara Bay and its islands, Flamengo and Botafogo beaches, Santos Dumont Airport, the Rio-Niterói Bridge, Urca’s neighborhood and Corcovado Mountain. After some time allowed up there, you will head down to an all-you-can-eat-style barbecue house (if option selected). If you choose the option without lunch, your guide will offer a variety of nearby suggestions.
After lunch, you will take a van ride to Santa Teresa, a neighborhood where laid-backness and tradition meet. But it also brings you street art, such as the amazing Selarón Steps, the beautiful steps done in ceramic by the Chilean artist Jorge Selarón. You will have about 10 minutes or so to contemplate it . From there, you will leave by van up through the Tijuca National Park. Where you will arrive at the park’s visitor center. From there you’ll make your way up to the statue where you will spend some time enjoying the views from one of the world’s most famous landmark. After riding the van back down, you will make your way back to your hotel.
